When the fruit arrives at major UK seaports and airports, J.O. Sims organises clearance procedures. The produce is then either transported directly to customers or to our purpose-built facilities in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
On arrival, the produce goes into cold storage in our 75,000 sq.ft temperature controlled warehouse – one of the most up-to-date of its kind in the UK. Ethylene scrubbers have been installed in the cold stores to remove ethylene and other hydrocarbon gases from the atmosphere, helping to maintain the quality and extend the storage potential of our fruit.
