Potent antioxidants, including anthocyanin, are highly
concentrated in the deep-blue pigment of their skin.
Anthocyanins are important to our wellbeing because they
are believed to protect against brain ageing. Research
suggests they promote increased memory, concentration
& coordination, and may combat conditions such as
dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The anthocyanins in Canadian Wild Blueberries may also aid
vision health by reducing eye strain and improving night vision. They are also thought to prevent macular degeneration, the
leading cause of blindness in people over age 65.
Other health benefits attributed to
Canadian Wild Blueberries include
cancer prevention, heart health
and urinary tract health. |

What are Superfruits?
Superfruits are fruits that pack a particularly
nutritious punch through a combination of
antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, fibre and
essential fatty acids. These promote health
and wellbeing, and can help to protect against
many diseases. Crucially, all of these nutritional
benefits occur naturally – not through
fortification.
How are they supplied?
Our fruits are available in a variety of formats
to suit any application - dried, infused, frozen,
and freeze dried, as well as purees, pulps and
concentrates. |
|
| |
Where can they be used?
Superfruits bring natural added nutritional value
and functionality to a variety of products such as cereals, cakes and bars, confectionery, drinks,
dairy products, prepared foods, and snacks.
When are they available?
Most can be supplied all year round. And where
availability is limited, we are working with our
growers to give Mother Nature a helping hand! |
