To achieve this, our technical personnel work closely with
growers to ensure that the use of crop protection chemicals is
kept to a minimum. Where the use of such chemicals is necessary,
we will liaise with growers to screen chemicals, making sure that
those selected are safest for the operator, the environment and
the consumer.
We are committed to the adoption of Integrated Crop Management
practices which support the responsible use of pesticides and
regularly audits growers to ensure that the impact of commercial
activities on the environment is minimised.
On arrival in the UK, fruits are routinely tested for pesticide
residues and are inspected to ensure that they meet the expected
high quality standards. By working with individual growers,
grower groups, universities and research centres, all aspects
of production, harvesting, packing and distribution are continually
updated and improved. |

We believe that good people with expert fruit knowledge are key to ensuring good quality
products.
All our fruit is checked and tested at goods in and
on-line, before final positive release to customers.
We check everything; including appearance, grading,
weighing & measuring and there are brix, cut and
pressure tests too.
We encourage the buyers and sellers in the
company to see our fruit as much as possible;
so that as a business we all understand what is
passing through our plant; are better able to
manage fruit according to specification; and we
can also relay information back to our suppliers
should quality issues arise.
Taken together it is the people and practices we
employ that make sure our customers get the high
quality of fruit they require. |
